Megan enrolled in Cupertino High School. When she turned in her first a-sign-ment, she got a poor grade, and the teacher commented, “What is this? It is not acceptable. You are in public school now!” We didn't really un-derstand what that meant, but it seemed like the standards were more rigid than in private school. I encour-aged Megan to go up and talk with the teacher. He recommended that she be examined in all of her classes, to assess where she was at. He gave a list of the teachers who could do the exams.
