The Filly

I had a colt, a filly. I didn't "own" her, it was more like we were partners, assigned to each other. The filly wanted to play with me, physically, by coming up to me and pushing me with her shoulders. At first, I didn't push back, but then I suddenly realized that I didn't need to be afraid. I am a large man, more thanlarge enough to play with her without fear of being hurt. even though this wasn't ordinarily done, it was good, and it would buold our relationship to an unusual strength. When it came time to ride, we would have a strong bond, coming from a deep place of friendship and trust.

I felt such joy and satisfaction.
